Why a mule?
Mules are hardier, more sure-footed and self-thinkers...they have a personality more like a dog and love attention.
How are mules different from horses?
The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the mule is half donkey ...so the differences you will notice in a mule will come from its long-eared parent. A mule will think about something more than a horse, they don't require as rich a feed, and they will take better care of themself

Mules excel as pack animals. They are extremely surefooted, take care of their load and their way of going (forward and back movement rather than side to side like a horse) contribute to load carrying in rough areas that is unequalled.

Good temperament is very important...most mules love attention and in fact, many people think that they have the personality more similiar to a dog than a horse.

Exceptionally smart, mules learn things quickly if it is presented to them in the right way. And once they learn it, they do not often forget!

Modern mules are out of good quality mares. They are attractive and athletic...with great personalities.
