Mule School
Hosted by Lisa Fergason, Equines by Design

For several years, Mulerider.com was a very popular website for longears information...I was asked to host a column which we called "Lisa's Muleschool", and one of the features was a Question and Answer section. We got quite a few good questions...included on the next pages are some of them.
I've been able to enjoy working with horses for more than 35 years...with mules for more than twenty! As a keen student of animal psychology, evolution and the animal/human relationship...I have enjoyed helping other people understand their animals, especially longears.

I have written a continuing series on mule training called "Building Blocks" for a nat'l mule publication, and currently contribute "Lisa's MuleSchool", consisting of a Lesson, A Story...and Something to Think About. I have shown horses and mules all over the country, at all levels of competition, and currently contribute a column entitled "Prep Talk for the Showring" to another mule magazine.

For several years, I concentrated on learning from the great natural horsemanship clinicians..and attended more than one hundred clinics both as participant and spectator. I travelled all over the country to be able to learn from the best...and participated in colt starting, horsemanship, ranch roping and cow working clinics.

I have been fortunate to raise and train many good mules...Thanks to the support of my family, friends, mentors and customers. God Bless You to my father, Jim Wetzel, who accepted that he had a horsecrazy daughter...and to my husband James for allowing me the opportunity to spend 100% of my time working with , learning from and enjoying these mules!
